Crasis

Crasis (KREY-sis) 

  • is a a composition; constitution; make-up.
  • a type of contraction in which two vowels or diphthongs merge  into one vowel or diphthong - making one word out of two.

It comes from the Greek word krasis meaning "mixture, blend".
